Indio, California

We've certainly had a busy weekend. On Wednesday, Nov 8th, Connie flew from Seattle to Phoenix. After doing a few loads of laundry on Thursday, we packed up the fifth wheel and traveled to Indio, California - a distance of about 270 miles.

The reason for the trip to Indio, was a 'plus level' square dance festival over the veterans day weekend. For any square dancers following our blog - this was one of the best weekends we've ever attended. Dancing started on Thursday evening, followed by dancing all day Friday and Saturday (from 9 am to 10:30 p.m.), and dancing up until 4:30 on Sunday. We had some of the best callers around - including Ken Bower, Gary Shoemake, Marshall Flippo, Johnny Preston, Tony Oxidine, and Mike Sikorsky. Also, included in the price was a dinner at a local restaurant on Sunday evening. We stayed and danced at the local fairgrounds, so it was a convenient walk to the dancing from our fifth wheel. We thought we might not know anyone, but it turned out that we actually did know 4 couples that were here. In addition, we met some really nice couples out on the dance floor.

Tonight, our feet may hurt, but we sure had a good time. Tomorrow, Monday - the 13th, Connie heads back to Seattle (flying out of Palm Springs) to again do some work for the bank from which she retired. Connie will be in Seattle until the 21st and Bob will be with our favorite cat, Buddy, in Mesa. He'll be enjoying the sunshine there while Connie battles through rain puddles in Seattle. Still no new pictures, but maybe the next post will have something new!
