Wenatchee, Washington

We’ve moved from Brian and Toddi’s place to Confluence State Park in Wenatchee. The move puts us closer to our new home. We picked out our light fixtures this past week. The house is progressing – with the interior sheetrock completely installed. November 16th is our tentative move-in date.

This weekend was really nice. We had sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. There was a dog agility competition here in the state park where we’re staying. We wandered over to watch it and learned a lot about the competition. This is where the dogs have to run through a course of tunnels, teeter totters, weave sticks, jump over hurdles, etc. They have different classes – novice, intermediate, excellent (something like that). We mainly watched the novice. We learned from the bystanders some of the rules and thought the whole thing was really fun. The handlers can’t touch the dogs. They run with them through the course shouting commands and giving hand signals. Sometimes the dog will get distracted and just wander off the course (and then it’s disqualified). Turns out they have this same competition here in Wenatchee every October on the same weekend.

Friday night we took Brian and Toddi out for dinner. It was for his upcoming birthday (on Halloween). We’re not going to in the area then, so wanted to have a celebration with them. We’re headed over the pass to Everett this next week. Grandson, Cody, also has a Halloween birthday, so we’ll take him and his girlfriend out for dinner.

Also, on the Brian and Toddi front, we’ve found out that their child will be a boy – due date is March 7th.

Saturday night we attended the Appleland Promenaders’s Anniversary square dance. They brought in a caller from Canada and had a dinner before the dance. It’s nice having people we already know here in our new hometown.
