A beautiful fall day
Over the last couple of weeks we have babysat for grandson, Hudson, did a couple of hikes, went square dancing and worked in our yard.
We had Hudson all day this past Thursday and Friday. He is learning how to stand up. He still is scooting rather than crawling on all fours, but I'm sure he will be crawling on all fours very soon. Hudson even went to the daycare at our local health club so that Bob and I could do a weight lifting workout class together.
Last weekend we had friends, Paul and Carol, over for the weekend. We attended the dog agility trials here at the local park on Saturday. It's so much fun to watch the dogs make their way around the course leaping over hurdles, running through tubes, up and down a teeter-totter, etc. On Sunday we did a hike together. There is an old wagon road that goes between Wenatchee and Yakima. We drove up that for a ways and then got out and walked up the road for a mile or so. There were lots of hunters up in the area, so we made sure to stay on the road.
Today we drove to Leavenworth and then up the Icicle River road. The road washed out this last spring so before we could get to our hike we had to walk a little more than a mile on the bypass. We then did a 3 1/2 mile loop hike. We saw some really beautiful fall colors. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. We're hoping to do some more hiking before the snow flies.
