Cabin Creek snowshoe and Hudson's birthday

Saturday morning in Wenatchee was so beautiful as the night before it was raining, but it had snowed a little higher up. I headed out of Wenatchee at 8am to meet up with several of the women I used to work with at Federal Home Loan Bank. We get together quarterly to do a walk (or in this case a snowshoe).

I drove west over Blewett Pass and continued to a Washington snopark located about 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. I met up with 5 prior co-workers. We strapped on our snowshoes and headed out for a walk through the trees. The snow was quite crunchy as it hadn't snowed there for awhile. At a viewpoint over the Yakima river we had a little birthday cupcake celebration for Jane that even included candles. Our thanks to Jesslyn for bringing the cupcakes, the candles, and the lighter.

After our snowshoe we headed to Suncadia Lodge for lunch. Suncadia is a huge resort in development located just off I-90. We had a very nice lunch and enjoyed more time visiting, catching up on each other's families, what's new at the bank, and other great discussions. Too soon it was time to head our seperate ways - the 5 other women back towards Seattle, and me back to Wenatchee.

But, the day wasn't over yet! In the evening we went to Red Robin to celebrate Hudson's 2nd birthday. There were 12 for dinner - Brian, Toddi, and Hudson, Toddi's brother and family, and Toddi's son, Nathan, and his parents who adopted him. After dinner we went back to Brian and Toddi's home for him to open his gifts and to have cake and ice cream. It was a very full day. Today, Sunday, the 28th, is actually Hudson's birthday.
