Wenatchee fires

These last few weeks in Wenatchee have been very interesting.  The night that Quinlee Jade was born there was a huge lightening and thunder storm.  It sparked many fires in Eastern Washington.  There was a fire within 5 miles from us.  It was called the Canyons Fire.  The weather would have been beautiful except for the smoke from the fires.

This past weekend we left on Wednesday to go to the Barn Dance in Winthrop.  We camped at Early Winters campground for a couple of days, then stayed two nights right in Winthrop.  On Sunday, we went back up to Early Winters and stayed two more nights.  We could hardly pay the price ($4 per night with our senior pass).  While up at Early Winters we did 3 hikes - Cutthroat Lake, Cedar Falls, and along the Pacific Crest Trail about 3 miles above Hart's Pass.

We're now home in Wenatchee.  It is still a little smoky, but has improved since last week.
