Singapore to Sydney cruise

We have now returned from out 3 1/2 week trip.  We started by staying two days in Hong Kong and then moved onto Singapore where we spent a couple of days seeing the city.  We then boarded the Celebrity Solstice for our 16 day cruise.  The first stop was in Bali.  We hired a driver who took us to the zoo, to a Batik place, to a temple, and to an outdoor lunch place.  Last stop in Bali was at the beach for a couple of quick snapshots.

Next stop was Darwin, Australia.  We did a war tour about the bombing of Darwin in February of 1942.  Last stop on the tour was the Darwin war museum.  That same evening we did a sunset cruise on a catamaran.

Next stop was Cairns, Australia.  We didn't go ashore that day, but instead got on a catamaran for a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef.  We snorkeled, rode in the glass bottom boat, and their glass bottom sub.  They served us a nice lunch on the boat.  There was a pontoon permanently set up that we used as our base for snorkeling.  We had a great day - perfect weather.

Brisbane, Australia was the next stop.  We did a river cruise to the Koala Sanctuary.  We really enjoyed our time there.  We loved our photos with the koala.

Last stop on the cruise was Sydney.  We departed the ship and moved to a hotel for 3 nights.  Unfortunately, the weather was a little cool and windy.  We did a trip on the ferry to Manly one day and had a nice lunch at a open air restaurant looking out on the beach.  The ride back was quite rough, but fun.

We loved the people we met on the cruise.  Everyone was so friendly.  We talked to people from Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, England, USA, Germany, and Switzerland.
