Adirondack Balloon Festival, Glens Falls, NY
After leaving Buffalo, NY, we travelled through the Finger Lakes area of New York State. They have tons of wineries throughout this area. We had received information on wineries to visit from our Buffalo cousins. We drove to Watkins Glen and stayed at a state park there. From there we drove to the Corning Glass museum one morning and in the afternoon we hiked through the gorge at the state park. We also visited 7 or 8 wineries.
We then drove to Glens Falls on Wednesday and arrived at Bob's sister's home that evening. We have been staying here in Glens Falls. After arriving here we found out that we hit it just right for attending the Adirondack Balloon Festival. This morning we got up at 5:00a.m. and drove out to the airport where they launched 90 or so balloons. It was lots of fun and really enjoyed seeing the different shaped and colored balloons. We're headed to Maine on Monday. Watch for info on this in our next blog.
