Badlands of South Dakota

We are putting on some miles.  From Buffalo we drove through Pennsylvania (a corner of it), Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and now we are in South Dakota.  We left Buffalo early on Monday morning and arrived here in Rapid City, SD on Thursday afternoon.

Near Cedar Rapids, Iowa we stayed in a huge RV park near the Amana Colonies.  The Colonies were established by a religious group from Germany in the 1800's.  There are 7 villages with shops and beautifully kept homes.

Next up was the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD.   Bob had to replenish his favorite T-shirt.  The one that says 'If a man stands in a forest and there is no woman to hear him is he still wrong'.  He bought two shirts so that he will never run out.

Up next was a drive through the Badlands of South Dakota.  Beautiful day for a little detour off I-90,  We are near Mt. Rushmore but decided not to visit.  We have been here before.  We took a drive over to Hill City, looked through the shops,  then drove to Rapid City and wandered around their downtown before calling it a day.
