Florence and Rome

We enjoyed our time in Florence, especially visiting Michelangelo's David. This statue is 17 feet tall. When you enter the museum you come around a corner and it sits on a pedestal at the end of the corridor. We never really understood how beautiful a statue could be. This is definitely the tops. We also had some really good meals in Florence. Delicious brushetta.

Next we drove to Rome. We toured the Vatican museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Paul's church. This church is bigger than any church you can imagine. It has something like 27 chapels in it.

On Thursday we had a waling tour from the Colliseum to the Pantheon. The Colliseum is almost 2000 years old. It is a huge structure that used to hold 50,000.
