Wenatchee Wild Hockey game

Last night we attended the Wenatchee Wild hockey game with son, Brian, and daughter, Michelle, and our neighbors. Brian was able to get us $10 seats from a coworker. It was a great game with the Wild winning 6-2.

At the game they have a 50/50 drawing. Michelle bought $5 worth of tickets and won the grand prize - $1083. She was pretty excited.

Toddi and Hudson weren't able to go as Hudson was sick. We had to retrieve him from daycare at about 11:00 that morning because he was going at both ends if you know what I mean. I sure hope he is better today.

Back In Wenatchee

We stayed a couple of extra days in the Canadian Rockies - leaving on Tuesday morning, January 19th. Bob's back continued to get better (after his fall on the 12th).

We're now home in Wenatchee. We had a really easy drive home - total of about 500+ miles. We stayed one night in Spokane at the air force base and then were home by 11:30 on Wednesday. Our cat, Buddy, was sure glad to see us.

The Canadian Rockies- our 25th anniversary

We left Wenatchee on Sunday, January 10th for a trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a great drive up stopping in the cutest hotel in Cranbrook, B.C. on the way up here.

We reserved a cabin for two nights at a place called Storm Mountain Lodge. It was a small cabin with a wood burning fireplace - very romantic. With the room came dinner on Monday evening. It was a really nice dinner in their lodge.

On our anniversary, Tuesday, the 12th, we headed out for a snowshoe at Lake Louise. We did the snowshoe to a lookout back towards Chateau Lake Louise. After the snowshoe we took some pictures near the Chateau and then went inside for a glass of wine looking out on the lake.

We then headed back to the cabin. We had a nice fire and then Bob decided to go get his jeans out of the truck. He didn't want to put his boots on so I handed him his crocs. He went out to get the jeans and couldn't find them. He came back in and said 'boy those crocs are slippery'. You would think that would give him a clue. But, nope, back out he went to look for the jeans, and yep you got it - he fell right on his back on the granite steps. So, guess where we spent our 25th anniversary? Try the emergency room at the hospital in Banff. And what did we have for our anniversary dinner - try a McDonald's hamburger at about 10 that night. This was after spending about 3 hours at the emergency room. They took x-rays and fortunately nothing was broken.

So, for the next few days Bob has been nursing his back. Fortunately, by Saturday he was able to do a 3 mile roundtrip hike in Johnson Canyon. And, on Sunday, we were able to do another 3 miles of snowshoeing. We did two hikes shorter hikes - one to Marble Canyon and one to the Paint Pots. We leave for home tomorrow and will post some amazing pictures when we get there.

Happy New Year - 2010

Here we are in a brand new year and a new decade. I still remember when it was 1999 and we were waiting for 2000. We had worked so hard getting all of our computer systems at the bank where I worked ready to handle the year 2000. People say- ooh it was all a lot of nothing (the hoopla over the new century), but then again, they probably don't realize how much work went into it being a lot of nothing. Anyway, it's nice not to have to worry about that kind of stuff anymore!

We had a nice New Year's eve. Our square dance club went out to dinner together. The restaurant was only open for us - we had 38 people. Then we went to our hall where we had a dance with about 4 squares.

Saturday night (the 2nd) Michelle took us to the Wenatchee Wild hockey game. It was a huge crowd - 4097. When you think of the size of Wenatchee that is a lot of people. Anyway, the Wild won 6 - 1, so it was also an exciting game for us.

We have a mineral lick in our backyard for the deer, plus a feeding block. It's a block with different deer food kind of glued together with molasses or something. Anyway, last night about midnight we had 5 deer in the back yard. When Bob got up this morning, there was one deer in our yard and he said it was being chased by a coyote. Bob went out and chased off the coyote. The deer stayed in our yard for a long time, but eventually wandered off. We are the second to the last house before a big hill that goes off into a wide open area where the deer winter.
