Mesa, AZ - Happy T-day

Sunshine again for Connie. After spending from Nov 1-8 and Nov 13-21 in Seattle it's nice to return to the desert and warm weather. Connie was working in Seattle at the bank where she was employed for 20 years, while Bob and Buddy were hanging out in Mesa. Today was a busy day comprised of cooking a turkey, doing laundry, and having our carpets cleaned.

Tomorrow - T-day, we're headed to a dinner theatre in the early afternoon with Connie's mom and dad. It should be fun and easy - no cooking!!

Now that we're settled into a place for 7 more weeks, we should have some photos to post. So check back and we'll have a picture of our newest 'home' spot.

Indio, California

We've certainly had a busy weekend. On Wednesday, Nov 8th, Connie flew from Seattle to Phoenix. After doing a few loads of laundry on Thursday, we packed up the fifth wheel and traveled to Indio, California - a distance of about 270 miles.

The reason for the trip to Indio, was a 'plus level' square dance festival over the veterans day weekend. For any square dancers following our blog - this was one of the best weekends we've ever attended. Dancing started on Thursday evening, followed by dancing all day Friday and Saturday (from 9 am to 10:30 p.m.), and dancing up until 4:30 on Sunday. We had some of the best callers around - including Ken Bower, Gary Shoemake, Marshall Flippo, Johnny Preston, Tony Oxidine, and Mike Sikorsky. Also, included in the price was a dinner at a local restaurant on Sunday evening. We stayed and danced at the local fairgrounds, so it was a convenient walk to the dancing from our fifth wheel. We thought we might not know anyone, but it turned out that we actually did know 4 couples that were here. In addition, we met some really nice couples out on the dance floor.

Tonight, our feet may hurt, but we sure had a good time. Tomorrow, Monday - the 13th, Connie heads back to Seattle (flying out of Palm Springs) to again do some work for the bank from which she retired. Connie will be in Seattle until the 21st and Bob will be with our favorite cat, Buddy, in Mesa. He'll be enjoying the sunshine there while Connie battles through rain puddles in Seattle. Still no new pictures, but maybe the next post will have something new!

Seattle, Washington

This is being posted by Connie who is currently in Seattle. Bob is down in Arizona enjoying the warmth of that state. What it has done in Seattle since I arrived last Wednesday is rain, rain, rain. I am here working at the bank where I used to work. Doing a little contract work to help pay for our trip to Europe next summer. I don't have the camera with me so can't post any pictures.

I return to Phoenix on Wednesday. We're then headed to Indio, California for a square dance weekend. Should be fun. Pictures in the next posting.
