Home via the North Cascades

We went to the west side this past week.  Bob had a couple of doctor appointments, we took in a Mariner's game (they actually won), and then went to a square dance in Sedro Wooley for the weekend.  Since we were already part way over the North Cascade Highway we decided to come that way.  We stayed Sunday night at Newhalem Forest Service Campground.  That is such a great place to stay.  Today, July 30th, we finished our drive over the Cascades.  It was a picture perfect day as you can see by the pictures.

National Square Dance convention

We've returned from the National Square Dance Convention which was held in Spokane from June 27-30, 2012.  It was a busy time for us as we worked on the Registration Committee which meant that we spent several hours working the booth for badge repairs and walkup registrations.  The convention was very successful with about 5575 registered, plus about 400 visitors.  We also had fun square dancing which was why we were there!  Prior to the convention there were several trail-in dances so we danced for 8 days straight.

Now we're home enjoying the nice Wenatchee weather.  Last night on the 4th, we joined our neighbors to watch the fireworks.  We had a pretty good view of them.  It was a lovely night with a brilliant orange moon.
