Kauai

We're here in Hawaii. We arrived on April 18th with our friends, Paul and Carol. For the first 5 days we stayed in a condo on the south shore. It was a great location. We could watch the surfers and sea turtles all day. We even saw some whales. They were quite a distance away.

On Saturday, Paul and Carol flew to Oahu to stay with some other friends. We moved to a different condo more in the middle of the island on the east coast. The view is nice, but not as nice as our first place.

Easter morning Bob had what we thought was a TIA (mini stroke) and wound up in the hospital. He spent Sunday night there. The doctors here have diagnosed what he has as a Sensory Aura.

We've gone snorkeling while here, plus taken a boat trip along the NaPali coast. We also visited the Farm Grove Museum. Today we're off to do some snorkeling.

Hawaii here we come

It's hard to believe that it's already spring. We're headed to Kauai next week for 10 days. We're looking forward to some time in the sun. Our friends, Paul and Carol, will be with us for 5 of the 10 days. We're planning a boat trip plus lots of snorkeling. We've rented a condo right on the beach.

Bob is still recovering from his foot surgery, but is finally walking wearing his normal boot.

Bob is our square dance club president and I am the secretary, plus we're the chairman of our annual Apple Blossom dance where we have about 160 dancers come to town to dance to a national caller. That weekend is coming up on May 6,7,8. After this all winds down we're headed to Detroit for the 60th National Square Dance convention. We're planning to drive and stop along the way in South Dakota at Mt. Rushmore. Luckily we have a daughter who lives with us who can take care of the cat and the house while we're gone!
