Cottonwood, AZ
After 4 nights in LasVegas we headed south to Arizona. We pulled into the state park where we planned to spend the next 3 nights and the dash started smoking. Talk about a little excitement! Bob got the truck to the dealership where there was smoke and flames from under the dash. Anyway, the truck is in being worked on and it will be at least another 3 days before it is fixed. In the meantime we have a rental car.
We drove to Jerome, the old mining town on Saturday. Sunday afternoon we took a train ride on the Verde Canyon Railway. That evening we went to show at the Blazin M Ranch. We won flowers and tickets to another dinner and show there. The weather is beautiful - about 80 degrees. We safe and secure in a camping spot, so all is well on that end.

Las Vegas
We left Wenatchee on October 18th and drove south through eastern Oregon. There were beautiful fall colors. We visited John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. We did a hike through Blue Basin where the rocks are blue/green. We continued on south taking another couple of days to arrive in Las Vegas.
We're now at Nellis AFB in their RV park. It's about 12 miles from the strip. We went to the Legends in Concert show at Harrah's. The part we enjoyed the most was the Elvis impersonator. We did a little gambling - played video poker. I'm down about $5 and Bob is probably up about $3.
Two days ago Bob scraped his arm on a car at the commissary here on base. With his blood thinner medication he had to go to the emergency room to get it taken care of. He is back there this morning - two days later as it is still bleeding. We're hoping to do some hiking today.
