San Carlos, Mexico
We made it 270 miles south of the border on our first day of driving in Mexico. Before entering Mexico, we had advise as to all of the ins and outs of getting needed permits. There is a large station 21 kilometers south of the border where we stopped and obtained our vehicle permits. Also, obtained our entry visas.
We're here in an RV park that has free wi-fi. The park is right across from the water. There is very beautiful scenery in this area. This morning we took about a 3 mile(roundtrip) walk to the bank and grocery store. The temperature is very pleasant - around 75 degrees.
Monday morning we'll be headed south to our next stop. We're going to spend two nights at a beachfront RV park and then arrive in Mazatlan on Wednesday afternoon. At least that's the plan for now.

Casa Grande, Arizona
We moved south to Casa Grande, Arizona to the park where Connie's mom and dad live. Connie's brother, Steve, and wife, Nancy, are here in the park also. So, we're having a mini family reunion. Because Steve and Nancy have a cat, we're both in the pet section. We're parked across the street from each other. Mom and dad are in the non-pet section.
Connie and Nancy went to Yoga this morning. We all went out to dinner together tonight. Monday, when we arrived we played a game that Steve and Nancy taught us. We thought it was pretty fun. It was called Presidents and Assholes. It's one of those games you can learn pretty esaily with one hand being played.
We're getting excited about our trip to Mexico. We'll be in Mazatlan for 3 months. So, watch the blog for this upcoming adventure.

Tortilla Flats, Arizona
We saw the new year in by attending a square dance. Since then we've square danced several times. There was a huge dance last Sunday afternoon with about 400 people. After the dance we went out for pizza with 3 other couples. One of the couples suggested we go together to Tortilla Flats the next afternoon.
Monday we drove east from Mesa to Tortilla Flats, population 6. We had lunch on the patio while listening to music. We then drove down Fish Creek pass to Roosevelt Dam. It was 22 miles on a dirt road. It was beautiful - lots of interesting rock formations and cactus and views of Canyon Lake. We were gone about 6 hours total for lunch and the drive.
Today, Tuesday, we have round dance lessons in the afternoon. We're also going to check out a couple of RV parks in case we come back here next year. The weather is suppose to be 76 today. So, should be a great day.
